Alessandro Griccioli - Judge BIWC 2026
Born in Tuscany to a family with deep-rooted viticultural traditions dating back to the 14th century, Alessandro has spent the past two decades at the helm of his family estate, Tenuta di Montechiaro. Deeply passionate about the Sienese terroir and organic viticulture, he oversees the production of boutique wines and manages a luxury wine resort that bridges history with modern hospitality. During his professional journey, he has achieved the AIS (Associazione Italiana Sommelier) Sommelier and Official Taster certifications, further cementing his expertise in the field. He has also completed the WSET Level 3 and is currently in the final stages of obtaining the prestigious WSET Diploma. Beyond the vines, he is a dedicated photography enthusiast, capturing the soul of the landscapes and the people he encounters. Now focused on elevating the international profile of Montechiaro, he works to develop global markets through his Wine Club and luxury experiences, while continuing to blend his technical wine knowledge with a creative, visual narrative of the Tuscan lifestyle.
